HISTORY
Four years ago, Pastor Gayland Hendrickson of Noth Ridge Church, Marshfield had the vision to plant a church in the Colby/Abbotsford area. He and some volunteers began to drive up here to the Colby High School Auditorium and began to hold services. In that first year, attendance was between 20-30 people. As the attendance began to grow, they brought on Nicki Fust who became the Ministries Director for this new congregation. The church continued to grow, thanks to the special events that were planned under her leadership.
In the fall of 2007 the Silva family (Pastor Joao, Joao jr., Ricardo and Rosangela) were enlisted to help create a Hispanic congregation. Ricardo led worship for both congregations, and Joao Jr. was the youth leader for both, as well.
Then, in June of 2008 Will Krebs was hired as the full-time pastor for North Ridge Church of Colby/Abbotsford. Currently, our congregation averages 100 people in attendance on Sunday morning, with approximately 40 people attending in the Hispanic service.
In the month of November, we purchased a church building at 122 N. 2nd St and began to remodel it in January 2009. We held our first service in the remodeled sanctuary on Easter Sunday with 154 people in attendance.
On Sunday November 22, 2009 we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of being in this church building here in Abbotsford. 156 people were in attendance and we all enjoyed a thanksgiving meal together. This service was interpreted into spanish and was fully bilingual. Our church is very intentional about building community between all cultures, for we are united in Christ.
